The Suitcase of Secrets is a gripping and meticulously researched novel. From the first page the narrative flows effortlessly which drew me into the lives of the Kozynski family, each who suffered their own but equally harrowing fates at the hands of the Nazi regime. Throughout the novel we follow the well drawn and complex characters during and after the war as their experiences ripple outwards to impact their lives and the lives of those around them. This novel is beautifully and sensitively written without sparing the reader the shocking and devastating details of what too many innocent people suffered and endured in their fight to survive. I urge everyone to read this emotionally charged, surprising and captivating novel. I couldn’t put this book down and I look forward to reading more by Julie Fearn.
